SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard

TRAINING AGENDA

Lesson Agenda
Introduction - The user will be introduced to SOLIDWORKS Visualize, some of the main differences between Standard and Professional, as well as the recommended hardware to use.

Lesson 1: User Interface Overview - Navigation throughout projects using multiple interface modes and exploring key functionality differences between SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard and Professional will provide a base understanding needed to use the software.

Lesson 2: Getting Started - Starting a new project will include importing CAD data into the scene using various part grouping methods and understanding the render modes available to best manipulate geometry whilst editing and creating imagery. Applying basic appearances and producing specific camera views will also be covered.

Lesson 3: Advanced Appearances  - Texture based materials are a key aspect of the software. Learning how to best use/manipulate the various types alongside integrating display styles to the project will enhance the visual depth of the renders and using resource libraries to expand choice of materials, will keep possibilities endless.

Lesson 4: Decals & Cameras - Applying decals such as warning stickers or logos will increase the realism of each image created. Similarly, understanding the scenes in which the subject is positioned, will allow accurate lighting and therefore shadow and shade creation.

Lesson 5: Outputs - Using the output tools available such as resolution/DPI settings and choosing the render device is vital to the production of a good render. We will also demonstrate how to render transparent and highly reflective objects to generate caustics. Example work and tips for achieving similar results are laid out for various project types.
Course Details
Length: 1 Day

Prerequisites: Experience navigating around the Windows Operating System

Description: This course will teach key functionality within SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard (included with SOLIDWORKS Professional) to attendees. The course content will begin with an introduction to the user interface and all of the necessary functionality to complete a basic render.

In subsequent lessons attendees will complete their knowledge of Visualize Standard through the use of examples focused on the detailed options within the software including, importing models, appearance management, use of lighting, render and output settings, textured appearances, decals, ground reflections & shadows, using cameras and applying effects to the final render.
