Description
A combination of effective man-management skills along with technical expertise while utilising the available resources efficiently and effectively will be required to deliver to customer demand on a right first time basis. The successful candidate will be committed to working with the Board of Directors to ensure that all people and change management initiatives are effectively implemented, managed and reviewed in a timely and consistent manner.
Responsible for coordinating all resources within the technical services departments to ensure quality, on time and accurate outputs are achieved, to the required quantity, at the lowest possible cost, in a manner in keeping with the company’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
Your Experience / Skills
Key Responsibilities:
o Manage a department of approximately 15 people
o Development of a multi-skilled team, which provides the operation with a flexible and motivated workforce
o Ensure that health, safety and environmental issues and improvements within the department are made to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment
o Ensure that the quality systems and operating procedures are clearly defined and followed
o Ensure that all visual information and standards are maintained within the department.
o Help define the main (KPIs) to ensure achievement of productivity targets
o Ensure resources are manned appropriately during each shift
o Re-deploy labour in the event of absence, machine breakdown and shortage of work.
o Carry out effective communication relating to organisation and operational information.
o Ensure good housekeeping and safety working practices are adhered to using 5S.
o Carry out reporting and paperwork as required e.g. Quality concerns, T-card sy
Qualification:
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
o Ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
o Ability to perform under pressure
o Experience of complex, precision, carbide progression tools and associated components
o Decisive leadership skills with demonstrable technical experience
o Lean manufacturing and Continuous improvement experience
o Ability to effectively communicate at any level – an astute influencer and negotiator.
o A team player with astute mentoring skills.
o Customer and commercial awareness.
o Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to identify appropriate methods
o Budgetary and purchasing experience.
Preferred:
o Member of appropriate professional body
o Knowledge of relevant presses and equipment
o Management team experience.
o Appropriate 3D CAD & CAM experience
Salary Range:
£30k - £35k pa + bonus
