Roband is a family run development and manufacturing electronics company that specialises in the design, development and manufacture of electronic power systems principally for the defence and aerospace markets.

A vacancy has arisen for a hands-on Machine Shop Operator / Programmer to support the manufacturing team. This role involves the understanding, Programming, Setting and Operating the companies CNC machines. Liaison with internal customers and external suppliers in support of production plans, and company targets.

Responsibilities

• The Programming of CNC machines in-line with the drawing requirements using SOLID CAM


• Effective expediting to ensure parts are manufactured in time


• Setting and Operating the CNC machines in-line with company procedures


• Liaison both internally and externally to support resolution of quality related issues and problems


• Perform basic machine maintenance


• Abide by company Health and Safety guidance

• Ideally, applicants will have a minimum of two years’ experience within a CNC Manufacturing environment.


• Experience with Solid CAM is a distinct advantage, however training is available


• The ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally


• The ability to program the CNC machines in an efficient way to optimize machine utilisation and reduce cost.


• Full driving licence and own transport.
