The Role:

Lead the design and development of new injection moulded components and filtration products.

Follow the NPD process from initial concept designs through to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

Manage technical documentation control.

Preparation of part and product costings.

Create technical documentation and reports.

Manage and mentor; Junior engineers, apprentices and internships.

Work directly with new and existing customers and suppliers.

Reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Operate within the company quality management system (BMS) delivering within ISO 9001 standards.

Work in collaboration with all stakeholders to deliver department objectives and key performance indicators.

Your Experience / Skills

Essential

Mechanical or design engineer graduating with a 2:1 or above.

Background and experience with designing injection moulding components.

Track record in project managing and delivering customer opportunities.

Proficient in creating parts, assemblies and engineering drawings using 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks or NX) software.

Strong problem solver, with a positive mind-set, influencer and resilient.

Attention to detail & well organised approach to working.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams and to manage multiple priorities.

Strong planning & organisational skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.

Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Minitab & Sage 200, Sage 200 CRM (not essential).

Desirable

Experience in filtration and separation.

Knowledge and experience of Sage CRM and Project Teamwork.

Knowledge and experience in additive manufacturing.

Knowledge of material selection for injection moulded components.

Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

An understanding of semi-automated machine design.

Strong Leadership, team & people management skills.

Analytical thinking, determination & decision making skills.

Qualification:

Mechanical or design engineer graduating with a 2:1 or above.

Salary Range:
£30,000-£35,000
