Milling about with SOLIDWORKS Visualize

Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 2:38pm
To help make our training courses easier to understand and more relatable to real life working situations we have purchased a 5 axis milling machine to demonstrate the outputs from these programs in action. We have created an animation using SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional.

At Solid Solutions we run training courses for a large variety of manufacturing solutions SOLIDWORKS certified manufacturing partner product training courses for SolidCAM, SWOOD and SigmaNEST alongside the newly introduced SOLIDWORKS CAM. To help make our training courses easier to understand and more relatable to real life working situations we have purchased a 5 axis milling machine to demonstrate the outputs from these programs in action. Not only is this machine versatile in its output, it is also quiet and portable, making it suitable for demonstrations. This machine will be featuring at our upcoming SOLIDWORKS 2019 launch events so if you’re interested in seeing what it’s capable of or wish to discuss your manufacturing needs then click here to sign up to a launch event in your area. If you can’t wait until then though, we have created an animation using SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional. We used the motion manager in SOLIDWORKS 2018 to define the path of the moving parts, then exported the model and motion information to SOLIDWORKS Visualize. Visualize was used to add the dynamic camera changes and create the final photorealistic render of the animation.

If you want to display your own rendering skills in SOLIDWORKS Visualize then we are running a competition through September and October with a chance to win an Apple iPad. For full competition details, a list of prizes and information on how to enter see our blog here. The deadline is midnight Wednesday 31st October 2018, good luck!!
