Solidworks Student Version

This page explains how to get access to SOLIDWORKS if you are a student.

If you have a SOLIDWORKS installation at your school, college or University you may be entitled to a free home use version of the software. For campus licenses with 45 or above installs, a free version called the Student Design Kit (SDK) is available for download on application. This is equivalent to the SOLIDWORKS Standard software. If the campus license is over 100 installs then you are entitled to the Student Engineering Kit (SEK) which requires a serial key to be issued by your educator/lecturer.
You will then use either the issued SEK serial key, or the serial key emailed to you during the SDK application to install SOLIDWORKS from a download link. This can be accessed either through the application process, or your school may host the software for you to download.

Note for the free home use licenses to be available, the campus license must under the maintenance contract.
